The Legal Cell of the Corporation is responsible for rendering legal advice in respect of various issues referred to by the officers of the Corporation and also for drafting of MOU's/Agreements/Notices etc.

This Cell is also co-ordinating and monitoring the cases pending in different courts against the Corporation/ filed by the Corporation..

This Cell also constitutes a panel of advocates in respect of Distt. Courts, Tribunals as well as High Courts etc. to defend the interest of Corporation/ filed by the Corporation.

The strength of panel is 14 lawyers being paid the Fee schedule for panel advocate w.e.f. 26/6/2014 is as under:

Number of effective Hearings are not specified so orders of Senior Authorities may be taken if the number of effective hearings are to be limited subject to a maximum as cases in District Courts are prolonged over many years.



Amount incurred towards this head may be paid to counsel in actual on presenting the bills. Not specified however the expenses in actual should be paid to counsel on presenting the final bill.
2. High Court / National and State Forum/ CAT a) Rs. 13,500/-Professional fees b)10% as a clerkage charges maximum of Rs. 2400/- c) Out of pocket exp. Incurred by the counsel in actual on presenting the bills. d) Court fees if paid by the counsel at the time of filling the appeal . e) Rs. 600/- per conference . f)Rs.3000/-per hearing till the admission/rejection/ notice in the matter. In case if matter is admitted the appointment of lawyer will be done on approved fee schedule of High Court and fees per hearing of Rs.3000/ will not be payable.  
3. Arbitration Rs. 20000/- fixed (w.e.f. 27.10.2017) If lot of work is involved in the cases , if requested by the advocate it may be considered by the Competent Authority for approval at that time.
4. Supreme Court Appointment of Sr. Advocates and the fee approved by the Sr. Authorites on case to case basis.  
5. Legal Opinion Rs.900/- per legal opinion If required to be taken.
6. Arbitrator Fees w.e.f. 27.10.2017 Sum in Dispute Arbitrator's Fees  
1. Upto Rs.5 lakhs Rs.40,000/-
2. Above Rs.5,00,001/- and upto Rs.20 lakhs Rs.40,000/-plus Rs.2000/- per lakh or part thereof for the amount excess of Rs.5 lakhs.
3. Above Rs.20 lakhs Rs.70,000/- plus Rs.2,000/- per lakhs or part thereof for the amount in excess of Rs.20 lakhs subject to ceiling of Rs.2 lakhs.
7. Effective/ Non - effective hearing A hearing in which either on or both of the parties involved in the said case are heard by the court at the time of framing the issues/ evidence/ arguments etc. If the case is mentioned and adjournment, only directions are given or only judgment is delivered by the court, it would be constituted non effective hearing if any will be termed as non effective hearing.
